The reasons you all shared for wanting to participate in the inaugural BIG Little Hero races on April 11 ran the gamut, from a desire to spend time together as a family and dress up in your favorite superhero costumes, to taking advantage of the 10K or 5K as a “tune-up” run before a goal spring race.

A few of you even shared photos with your comments on the Facebook page, which I loved.

The BIG Little Hero Race will take place Saturday, April 11, 2015 on the campus of Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City.

I have great news for two winners, selected at random, and very good news for everyone else. First, the winners of a free entry, which can be used for either the 10K or 5K, are Tiffany Smith and Christine Bell. Tiffany shared that she “would like to run the 10k pushing my daughter in the stroller to show her how big of a super hero her mommy is.” Christine, who also is eyeing the 10K, said this: “I have wanted to do a TC race for soooo long! Would love this!”

Tiffany and Christine: please email me at michiganrunnergirl [at] gmail [dot] com to claim your prize. Congratulations!

Now, everyone else who entered, take heart — I’ve got a special code to share with you, courtesy the race organizers who were so moved and inspired by all of the awesome comments that they wanted to do something to encourage you to sign on. When registering, whether for the 10K or 5K, use the following special $10 codes. (Yep, just 10 bucks to run either race!)

For the 10K, use this code: 10$10K

For the 5K, use this code: 10$5K

And because I loved reading everyone’s comments so much, I’m sharing them here. Thanks, everyone for your interest in this race — it’s going to be a great event!
