A few years back I wrote about my sticker infatuation, how I had become one of those runners who proudly slap running-related stickers onto the back of their vehicles (and elsewhere, like my laptop). I’d just finished my first marathon and felt elated about having reached this big goal. Since then I’ve added more—a simple black and white “TC” emblem for my hometown of Traverse City and a clever, bright blue “Great Lakes – Unsalted & Shark Free” sticker we found during a summer camping trip in Munising. I am drawn to stickers that are shout-outs to our sport and to our awesome state.

Most recently, I was excited (OK, a little giddy) about placing on the back of my car a custom-designed Michigan Runner Girl sticker. It represented not only a love of running in Michigan, but also an investment in this site and its mission of celebrating living a healthy, endurance lifestyle in the Great Lakes state. And I was happier yet to have worked with two Michigan-based businesses to create these stickers: Traverse City-based Proof Positive Brand Design (designer/principal Eric Campbell and I worked together all last summer on the MRG logo and branding itself) and Ludington-based myracesticker.com, which is headed up by runner Andy Klevorn.

The most thrilling part? Knowing readers are liking these stickers—and are proudly displaying them to show their love of running in Michigan. Three readers recently shared with me their stickers, and they agreed to let me share these images here. Thanks to Maggie, Heather and Terry for these great pics…

Love that Heather placed her sticker on her binder. (She also bought a sticker for her sister, who encouraged her to start running). Awesome.

Interested in celebrating your love of running in Michigan with a MRG sticker? Or want to give a sticker as a gift to your running partner? Please check out the new Shop MRG page here » (There are two options available, including one that’s just the logo) If you purchase at least one sticker between today, Friday, Jan. 10 and noon EST Thursday, Jan. 16, you’ll be entered into a random drawing to receive a vinyl cut Michigan sticker from myracesticker.com with your order. I’ll announce two (2) winners of this extra sticker end of next week.

(And if you’re already ordered one, thank you! Please send a picture of where you’ve placed your sticker to michiganrunnergirl [at] gmail [dot] com. I might feature it in an upcoming post on the MRG Facebook page!)

*All proceeds from sticker sales go toward the maintenance of this site. I am, however, planning to donate a percentage of yearly sales to a Michigan non-profit focused on preserving the beauty of our state. More details to come on this!

[Some fine print for this fine prize.] This giveaway is open to residents of the United States and Canada who are 18 years and older. It begins on 1/10/14 and ends at NOON EST on 1/16/14; the winners will be announced on 1/17/14. One entry per person. The number of eligible entries received determines the odds of winning. Void where prohibited by law.
