In a little over three weeks, I’ll be heading to Detroit for the fifth annual American Home Fitness Detroit Women’s Half Marathon, 10K and 5K on Belle Isle.  It’s become a race weekend tradition for Emma and me, given her high school cross country team competes each year this very weekend at Michigan State University that Friday before race day. Once again, MRG will have a booth at the Expotique on Saturday, and we’ll be running the race (thinking 10K this year) on Sunday, Sept. 17.

I’m especially excited about the race’s milestone year. And race organizers are commemorating the fifth year in a truly epic way with the Strength, Heart, and Sole Dinner Cruise.  I’ll be doing a little hosting on this cruise on the Detroit River, along with special guests the Epic Heart Heroes. This Saturday evening event celebrates runners and the strength, heart, and soul it takes to train and race—why we run, what brings us strength, and what fills our hearts.

We’ll wear red and we’ll wear our running shoes—this will be a comfy casual dinner cruise.
