Earlier this fall the tables were turned and I was the one being interviewed, for a podcast episode hosted by Joel and Eric of the northern Michigan event management company Endurance Evolution. It definitely was a different feeling, being on the other side and sharing my running story, and it was a ton a fun–what’s not to like about having the opportunity to talk about the endurance lifestyle with fellow lovers of this sport?
I’m excited to share this podcast with you all–you’ll hear all about my highs (and lows) of training and running races, how I’ve incorporated running into family camping vacations, what kind of pre- and post-race fuel are my favorites, why I love the movie “This is 40,” and lots more. (Yep, maybe more than you ever wanted to know!)
I’d love for you to check it out and let me know what you think–I’ve actually got plans in the works to start a Michigan Runner Girl podcast series, featuring interviews with runners, race directors and other running community members in the very near future–so I’d any feedback on topics of interest would be appreciated. I also encourage you to tune in to Endurance Evolution podcasts–I know they’ve got lots of great guests and endurance lifestyle-related information planned for future episodes. (These are the guys, after all, who put on some of the best races in Michigan, including the Runaway Hen Snowshoe Scamper on the Leelanau Peninsula, Traverse City Trail Running Festival in April, the Glen Arbor Solstice Half Marathon and 5K in June, the Traverse City Triathlon in August, and the Sleeping Bear Marathon and Half Marathon in October.)

Heather, I listened to the whole podcast and sure glad I did. I found it very interesting and even learned a couple of things I didn’t know about you! Just wanted to let you know I am so very proud of you. (love you, Mom)
Hi Mom! :) Thank you for this…made me smile. Did you like how I talked about you and my memories of eating healthy while growing up (thanks to you)? I am curious to know the couple of things you didn’t know about me already. You’ll have to share this with me sometime :)
Thanks for being a great guest on the show, Heather! We look forward to having you back again!
