Apparently we’re about to get another round of the white stuff late tonight and throughout the morning. As if the snowfall last weekend wasn’t enough. I’m really, really hoping this is the last of it.
But, well, we do live in Michigan. It is the fickle month of April, after all. And spring and summer are just around the corner. (They have to be, right?!)
In the meantime, though, we can dream of spring — let’s just go ahead and jump to summer — and the warm-weather races we’ll all be running. One of those races: the Mercy Health Seaway Run and Lake Michigan Half Marathon in Muskegon, set for June 25 this year. Last week on the blog I announced I had 2 race entries to give away to readers. Plenty of you entered this contest, sharing your reasons for wanting to run a race that recently was named the most scenic road course for runners in Michigan by MLive.
Here are the two runners, chosen at random, who are the winners of this giveaway:
Kelli V.: “I would love to be a part of this event! After being hit by a motorcycle last year, I’ve realized just how lucky I am to be able to run! It ignited a desire to experience as many things in as many places as I can. A scenic half marathon along the shores of Lake Michigan is certainly something to add to my list!”
Kaylee Fitzpatrick: “I started running at the beginning of the year to stay in shape and my mom convinced me to run a half marathon with her this summer. She thought this would be a good race to do because it’s close to home and in a pretty location. Plus my aunt and uncle live near the course and can come cheer us on … this will be my first half marathon.”
Congratulations, Kelli V. and Kaylee F.! Please email me at michiganrunnergirl [at] gmail [dot] com to claim your prize. Remember that you can choose the distance you want to run — the 5K, 15K or half marathon.
Thank you to everyone who entered this giveaway!
